The villages of Castelrotto, Siusi, Fiè allo Sciliar and the Alpe di Siusi can be found on a sunny plateau stretching out along the foot of the majestic Mount Sciliar. The Sciliar area is one of the most well-known holiday regions in South Tyrol and is worth a visit at any time of year.
In winter, there are endless opportunities for both downhill and cross-country ski enthusiasts. As part of the Dolomiti Superski ski area, offering a total of 1,200 km of slopes, the Alpe di Siusi is a true skiing paradise. Families and leisure skiers especially enjoy the wide, well-groomed slopes provided here. For snowboarders and freestylers, fun and action is guaranteed at the King Laurin Snow Park, the largest snow park in South Tyrol.
Cross-country skiers will enjoy 80 km of trails at all levels of difficulty on the Alpe di Siusi, surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. Those wanting to explore the untouched natural landscape of the Sciliar area away from the slopes should definitely try a guided snowshoe hike or ski tour.
In summer, the Sciliar area is a holiday paradise for families, active holidaymakers and pleasure seekers. The Alpe di Siusi and villages along the sunny plateau offer something for every taste. When looking for a hiking holiday in the Dolomites, the Sciliar area is the right place to be. There are countless hiking trails through flowering alpine meadows and forests, as well as wonderful mountain tours and via ferratas on Mount Sciliar and surrounding Dolomite peaks.
Sport enthusiasts have the opportunity to explore the largest mountain pasture in Europe by mountain bike or e-bike. Numerous biking trails for both beginners and experts lead up to the most beautiful vantage points and hidden treasures of South Tyrol.
In addition, the home town of the traditional Kastelruther Spatzen band provides a variety of cultural activities and events throughout the year.
The Sciliar area has a wide choice of accommodation available to ensure an all-round relaxing holiday experience. From a luxury spa hotel in the village centre to a cosy holiday chalet or farmhouse - the right accommodation to suit any requirement can be found here.

Fiè allo Sciliar – 880 m
The municipality of Fiè allo Sciliar spans an area in which the lowest point lies at 315 m above sea level  and the highest at 2,564 m. Therefore, the landscape of the municipality is extremely varied: from grapevines in Valle Isarco and dense coniferous forests at the foot of Mount Sciliar to the rugged Dolomite rock at over 2,500 m altitude. Culinary delights await all year round in Fiè allo Sciliar, especially during the natural food festival in summer, the Fiè Kuchlkastl event in October and the traditional Törggelen celebration every autumn.
