Valle di Anterselva – hotels, holiday apartments, book accommodation directly

With its majestic mountain peaks, Valle di Anterselva/Antholzertal is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature

Rasun di Sotto – Rasun di Sopra – Anterselva di Sotto – Anterselva di Mezzo – Anterselva di Sopra

A visit to Valle di Anterselva is an insider tip for hikers, cross-country skiers and holidaymakers who want to spend a relaxing holiday close to nature in the South Tyrolean mountains. Rasun di Sotto (1,030 m), followed by Rasun di Sopra (1,090 m) and Anterselva di Sotto (1,135 m), lay in an outstretched valley, among fertile fields and pastures. The valley then becomes narrower and Anterselva di Mezzo (1,250 m) is reached by a slight ascent. Anterselva di Sopra (1,532 m) is a scattered settlement rather than a clustered village. After a few kilometres, visitors reach the picturesque Lake Anterselva, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in South Tyrol, at the heart of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park.
The majestic Rieserferner mountain group with its well-known Hochgall (3,436 m) and Wildgall (3,273 m) peaks located at the end of the valley presents itself as a mighty protective wall. These powerful Three-thousanders mark the transition into the neighbouring valley of Riva di Tures, while a winding road along the Staller Saddle mountain pass (2,052 m) leads to the East Tyrolean Defereggen valley.
Hikers and mountain bikers will love the beauty and diversity of the holiday region. Idyllic alpine pastures, dense mixed coniferous woodland, wildly romantic mountain peaks and roaring waterfalls are all waiting to be discovered. A myriad of hiking trails lead you through the Riesenfehrner- Ahrn’s unique landscape. Experienced climbers can tackle the challenging via ferratas on the Hochgall and Wildgall and enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding Alps. Those who prefer to take things a little easier, should definitely consider the circular hike around Lake Anterselva. The beautiful nature trail around the crystal-clear mountain lake promises variety and fun for the whole family; the trail offers interesting insights and facts about the area's flora and fauna along the way.

In the winter months, Valle di Anterselva is particularly popular with Biathlon enthusiasts. Every year Biathlon World Cup races take place in the Biathlon Centre Südtirol Arena in Anterselva di Sopra. During this time, the otherwise quiet valley turns into a vibrant sports and party venue.
Cross-country skiers are also well catered for as Anterselva is part of the Dolomiti Nordic Ski area, the largest cross-country skiing carousel in Europe.
Skiers and snowboarders have access to the Riepen ski lift in Anterselva di Mezzo and can also take a detour to nearby Plan de Corones, one of South Tyrol’s premier ski resorts.
From highly-acclaimed wellness hotels to family-friendly holiday apartments, the range of accommodation available is equally as diverse as the wealth of leisure and sport activities on offer.
