Re Alberto 1° refuge in the Catinaccio mountains in South Tyrol
We welcome climbers, hikers and fans of the mountains in a friendly atmosphere on 2621 m in the heart of the mighty peaks of the Dolomites
The Re Alberto 1° refuge is located in the heart of the Rosengarten mountains, at the border between the Fassa valley and the Sudtirol land. The hollow is called “Gartl” and it is surrounded by huge bastions of mountains such as king Laurin' crag, the Rosengarten peak North side and the well known Vajolet towers, fantastic and elegant peaks.
From the refuge it seems you can almost reach out and touch the Delago, Stabeler and Winkler towers, named after their first climber!
Admiring the spiers of the "King Laurin's garden" is an unforgettable sight! It will last forever in your heart... word of those who, even after many years of management, still look at them with passion, getting excited each time!
A unique atmosphere, made of silence, peace, stunning sunrises and sunsets!
The refuge was first built in 1929 and renovated several times.
It welcomes climbers, hikers and real fans from all over the world, in a friendly and familiar environment.
It 'a meeting place, a shelter in case of bad weather, with a great "home-cooking" restaurant, which serves both traditional Tyrolean cuisine as Kaiserschmarren and dumplings, both the Italian cuisine as spaghetti and polenta.
